Horror fans looking for something scary to watch at home during the spooky season are in luck — "Halloween Ends" premieres on Peaco*ck and in theaters on October 14. You can stream the final movie in Universal's "Halloween" reboot trilogy with a Peaco*ckPremium plan.

The slasher movie begins four years after the events of "Halloween Kills." Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) has spent the last few years trying to move on from the trauma of Michael Myers' deadly rampage, but when a teenager is accused of killing the boy he was babysitting, Laurie has to confront her past once and for all.

"Halloween Ends" is set to feature the final appearances of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and Nick Castle as villain Michael Myers. Both actors originated their iconic slasher roles in John Carpenter's first "Halloween" movie in 1978. The cast also includes Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Will Patton, Kyle Richards, and Omar Dorsey.

From director David Gordon Green, "Halloween Ends" is the 13th movie in the iconic "Halloween" series. While the new film is being marketed as the end of the franchise, Peaco*ck notes that "Michael Myers never dies."

How to watch 'Halloween Ends'

You can watch "Halloween Ends" at home on Peaco*ck Premium, or in theaters starting October 14. The movie is expected to be available to stream on Peaco*ck for 60 days, after which time it will play exclusively in theaters. This means that you have until December 14 to stream "Halloween Ends."

Can I watch 'Halloween Ends' for free?

Though Peaco*ck has a free streaming option with ads and a limited selection of titles, "Halloween Ends" is only available for subscribers of Peaco*ck's paid tiers. Peaco*ck also no longer offers a free trial for its Premium plans, so the only way to stream "Halloween Ends" is with a paid subscription.

How long is 'Halloween Ends'?

The official runtime for "Halloween Ends" is 111 minutes (1 hour and 51 minutes). This is five minutes longer than the franchise's previous film, "Halloween Kills."

The 2022 slasher film is now the longest movie in the "Halloween" franchise. Before "Halloween Ends," the longest installment in the franchise was "Halloween" (2007), which clocked in at 110 minutes. "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later" is still the shortest Michael Myers film at only 86 minutes long.

Will 'Halloween Ends' be the final movie in the franchise?

While Universal is marketing "Halloween Ends" as the last movie in the 44-year-long franchise, the validity of this statement has been doubted. Peaco*ck's "Halloween Ends" page undermines this notion by stating "but we all know… Michael Myers never dies."

The original "Halloween" director John Carpenter also doubts that "Halloween Ends" will conclude the franchise. When asked if the new movie should end the series, the horror master told The New Yorker that he'll "have to see how much money it makes."

"Halloween Ends" is likely to be the final movie in the franchise starring Jamie Lee Curtis and produced by Blumhouse, but it's questionable whether it will be the end of Michael Myers. Rather, it seems that box office earnings are what will dictate the future of the "Halloween" franchise.
