Morehead City is a small town located near on the Bogue Sound. This town attracts lots of tourism in the summer and is quiet in the winter. There are many areas to shop in Morehead City or neighboring towns. If there was one thing that is a negative about this town is there is not much to do in the winter. Morehead City is a very safe town with lovely people.

It's expensive. Many people priced out of the housing market or lack employment year round to fund living here. A home priced 800 in another county runs 1500+

Morehead City is an excellent community to live in. With the small-town feel and sunny beaches, it is a great place to raise your children, vacation, and live. The school system is great. I have been born and raised in Morehead and have gone through the school system and I am grateful for being here.

As a Morehead City Native, I grew up by the water in which Morehead City is an Oceanside town with very good restaurants. Downtown is the most vibrant part of Morehead City, connected to a famous shoreline where boats that have appeared on television on shows like Wicked Tuna. We have a seafood festival every year in October where everyone, even if it's a packed crowd, can walk from booth to booth seamlessly. Overall, it seems like a very safe place with a new renovation to the police department, just a couple of years ago. There hasn't been major crime outbreaks or murders. The people here are nice, the Real Estate Market maybe a little overpriced judging that evaluators put value on being by the water. There is little job opportunities for major high-paying jobs around town since there is no major corporations here. The commute time do to it being a small town is great. The education system needs a little more investment due to high dropout rates. But all in all it's a decent town.

Overall, Morehead City is an amazing town to raise a family in. I have grown up in this small beach town my entire life, and it has brought me the fondest of memories. Going to the beach each weekend, biking around town, and feeling completely safe are some of the best feelings a hometown can bring.

Great place to live if you love small cities and the ocean! Moderate shopping locations and no night life scene. Needs more diversity but does have that southern beach city charm.

Morehead City is located on the East coast of North Carolina. It is in Carteret County. About 2 years ago, Morehead City was hit by hurricane Florence pretty severely. Even today, businesses, homes, parks are still trying to be mended. It is coming along greatly.

Great city, this is a seasonal tourist town. This city has a big sportfishing community, lots of churches, and is very safe. Healthy events like runs or marathons are held a lot. I would recommend this place for its beautiful scenery. This is a very localized place. This is a great place to raise an upper-middle-class family. It is not very affordable. This is an excellent place to vacation as well if you have money. There is not much for young people to do in this city. This city has a very strong anti-drug task force and a strong recovery community.

Beautiful small town on the water with access to everything the Crystal Coast has to offer. I came here for a week's vacation 35 years ago and never left!

Morehead City is beautiful. It's a small town but now too small, it has everything you need. The waterfront and the sound are like little slices of heaven. It's a paradise just minutes from the beach. Small town shops & bits of historical sites add to its charm. Neighbors and strangers are friendly. It's a wonderful place to raise a family.

It is a very safe and quiet place to live. If you don't like fishing or the beach you would hate it here. Everyone is friendly but not in a lasting friendship way, people stick with their own groups and do not add anyone who isn't family. It can be very lonely to a new comer. Morehead city is very affordable and easy to manage on a fixed income. Lots of animals, no dog parks without paying for them. I love my condo, its quiet and very clean.

Morehead City is close enough to the beach to enjoy it, yet just far enough away to avoid the seasonal issues. There is plenty of fine restaurants and nightlife, yet it is a quick drive away into the surrounding country.
