The end of the year is here, which means Pokémon Gois wrapping up another one with a huge Community Day Weekend event. The 2023 Community Weekend event will cover all of the Pokémon featured in Community Days throughout the year and it’ll even give you a chance to grab some Pokémon from 2022 days.
The event takes place on Dec. 16 and 17 and most of the perks will be active from 2-5 p.m. in your local time. There are some other perks, like special trades or evolving to get special moves, that take place out of that event period (which we explain below).
If you like collecting shiny Pokémon and you missed out on any of these Community Days earlier, this is your chance. It’s also a great chance to grab powerful Pokémon like Conkeldurr or Blastoise.
The featured Community Day Pokémon from throughout the year will be split among two days. Any Pokémon that were featured in a 2023 Community Day Classic will spawn on both days, but at a rarer rate. Meanwhile, 2022 Community Day Pokemon will also appear in eggs and raids. Below we list out the spawn times, special moves, and other perks of the Pokémon Go 2023 Community Weekend.

On December 17, Poliwag, Wooper, Paldean Wooper, Timburr, Axew, Froakie, and Grubbin will appear more frequently in the wild. A handful of Pokémon will appear in the wild on both Saturday and Sunday for the last 10 minutes of each hour, including Charmander, Squirtle, Mareep, Swinub, and Larvitar.
If you miss out on evolving the Pokémon once Community Day weekend is over to get the exclusive move, don't panic - you can use an Elite TM, or wait until December, where a special weekend will give you another chance to catch and evolve that previous year's Community Day Pokémon.
Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. We're holding a special Raid Day to celebrate Wyrdeer's Pokémon GO debut! Wyrdeer will appear in three-star raids, and if you're lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
A different set of Pokémon will be featured on each event day—Saturday, December 16, 2023, and Sunday, December 17, 2023—from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The Pokémon that appear during this time will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that appeared during their original Community Days.
Players will also be able to find a different selection of critters from the typical spawns in 1-Star Raids during the Pokemon GO December Community Day event. Like regular encounters, the mons that players can encounter in 1-Star Raids during this event also have an increased chance of being shiny.
Some are fairly easy: monthly Community Days deliver a featured shiny 'mon at about a 1:24 rate, and Limited Research like the Snubbull event in May have similar odds. Some Special Research quest lines feature a guaranteed shiny, like the shiny Eevee in the Jump-Start research line.
Shadow Mewtwo will return to Pokémon GO in Shadow Raids. Shadow Mewtwo will appear in five-star Shadow Raids from Saturday, March 30, 2024, to Sunday, March 31, 2024, local time. Shadow Raikou will not appear during the event. *If you're lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
Tornadus (Therian) will be in five-star raid battles from January 10, 2024 to January 17, 2024. Tornadius (Therian Forme) caught during this time will know Bleakwind Storm.
The difference between shiny and non-shiny Slowpoke can be easy to see when put side-by-side to its regular version, but it's hard to see otherwise. Make sure you look out for those sparkles and the shiny indicator above the Pokémon's name when you're shiny hunting for this light pink friend.
Wyrdeer is a Normal- and Psychic-type Pokemon part of the Pokemon Legends: Arceus Hisui Pokedex. This Pokedex page covers how to get Wyrdeer, Wyrdeer's evolution, Wyrdeer's Pokedex entry, and more in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Eggs. The following Pokémon will hatch from 2 km Eggs. Eevee wearing a holiday hat and Psyduck wearing holiday attire hatched from Eggs will have a greater chance of being Shiny Pokémon than when found in the wild. If you're lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
December is the first month of Pokémon GO's 13th Season, the Season of Timeless Travels, that runs from December 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to March 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
A Pokémon known for being hard of heart and deft of blade makes a dramatic debut. Stock up on Raid Passes and Potions, because Pokémon GO's Hisuian Samurott Raid Day kicks off December 3, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time.
