I stayed at this property last summer and wish I had've written a review then, but I never did. I was really impressed with the property. Better late than never, here are a few pictures - like LemonThrower, I was upgraded to a suite:
Living Room
Bedroom
Bathroom
Welcome Gift - the cookies were refreshed for the second (of two) nights, as well
The only part of this hotel that really reminded me of a Four Points was the soap/shampoo dispenser pumps in the shower. The property really exceeded my expectations, especially for the cost. Breakfast was very nice, I thought. We spent two nights here, with one full day and one night in Ljubljana - which I thought was a great little city to walk around. But the highlight of our time in Slovenia was Lake Bled - just incredibly beautiful. We ended up the trip in Piran, which was charming in its own certain way, but Lake Bled was the best as far as I was concerned. I thought Slovenia was a great country to visit and I am looking forward to going back. My only word of advice would be to get a decent rental car - I rented through Sixt and got a cheapo model which really struggled to keep up speed on the highways through the mountains - even with the pedal to the floor.

Thanks for this update, very timely. I just arrived Ljubljana and will now be sure to hit the lake!

we did lake bled, and while i would recommend it, we liked Lake Hallstat in austria even better - equally beautiful, just more peaceful.
in slovenia, we liked the caves as postojna and stocjan (sp?) even more than lake bled.
they are also close to the Lipica stud farm, where the famous Lippizaner stallions are bred.

To any of you that got upgraded to to a suite here - did you get free minibar?
When booking a suite the description says free minibar. Just wondering if the plats who got upgraded got this too?
I know you're supposed to get the perks that comes with the room, but sometimes its not the case.

Staying here now
Upgraded to junior suite. Came complete with dirty sheets and a safe filled with Euros. Clearly, I kept the Euros. Saw the sad plate of cookies and fruit. Not sure what the mini-bar situation is as there is no price list. This hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, so if you don't have a car, then don't book it. Public transport drops you off 1,5 km away. You can book a ride share to/from the airport with GoOpti for 10-15. Book in advance for the lower rate. Breakfast, which was included in my rate, was pretty vile. No eggs, nasty sausage and warm milk for the cereal. As much as I love cats, I don't want to eat like one. Yuck!!! Thankfully, I'm not eating breakfast tomorrow.
One quirk about the property: there's a huge Foucault pendulum in the lobby.

Looks like it's been awhile but curious if any stays since the Bonvoyification. Platinum with a stay coming up in a few weeks, was a seemingly great deal using points for a "Business" room, and I'll be driving to Bled from there.

My wife and I stayed there last week on points for one night. It was a great value as the points required for a "business" room were 12,500 and the cash rate was around EUR 250.
We were upgraded to what the front desk clerk called the best room in the house which was an executive suite. The room was a nice one bedroom suite with a massive bathroom with separate shower and tub.
We chose breakfast as the welcome amenity. It was a full buffet including made to order eggs. It wasnt the fanciest spread ever, but it got us going for the day. Breakfast is served downstairs in the meeting room area.
Parking was free. I was glad we had a rental car, as the hotel is not within walking distance of Ljubljana city center.
We also went from Ljubljana to Bled and spent two nights at Lake Bled. Slovenia and the Lake Bled area have earned spots near the top of my all-time favorite destinations. Enjoy your trip!
Cheers,
LBBZman

To add a data point:
The hotel is currently under construction, which doesn't seem to effect stays much now but I imagine will get worse given the renderings throughout the hotel. The front entrance is completely closed and you have to enter through the parking lot, which isn't a huge deal, but you enter at a sub-level, have to ride an escalator or take stairs up to a second sub-level (where breakfast is) and can take an elevator from there up to reception.
I booked a "Business" room using points, and as a Platinum received no upgrade. What makes it a "business" room is the desk is supposedly a better workspace (still hard to reach outlets), a "cremesso" machine, free minibar (2 OJs, 2 regular Pepsis, and 2 mineral waters), and "higher floor" (there are only three floors in the hotel). Although I was on top floor, sounded like people running above me. Decor in room is fine but basic
Gym had good amount of equipment, but it looked like a bomb went off, and no one ever tidied up over the course of my stay - weights everywhere. The warmup mats were so filthy and shredded they should have been thrown out years ago.
Breakfast was good - full buffet, with cooked to order omelets. Welcome in room was a ramekin of peanuts, a pear, and a chocolate bar.
I came after spending two nights at the Intercontinental, which was going for only 30 EUR more a night; if I wasn't using points, I would have been very disappointed to pay 130 EUR for this room. Easy access to highways, but I would not try to stay here without a car. There are some supermarkets and restaurants 3-5 minute drive away, and a mall about 8 minutes away. I ate at Azul, an Italian place with a huge menu that was perfectly pleasant, in a nearby residential neighborhood.

Im having my second stay (This one is a 3 nights stay) in few months at this property.
its a very nice Four Points, still under renovation (on external area, inside the hotel everything is very quiet)
kind and polite staff. Good restaurant, nice bar area and plenty of sofas at lobby lounge behind the reception desk
big free parking just in front of the entrance
Ive been upgraded to a Junior Suite, with free mini bar
nothing to ask more from a Four Points
unfortunately this is the only Marriott property in Slovenia

Its always a very good property, even more since the renovation has end. Probably the best Four Points Ive ever stayed
unfortunately the rates increased a lot also at this property, like 60% as average in the last months vs the past
never spent more than 100 per night, now impossible to find a rate below 170 per night
Its not the only property increasing a lot the rates, of course
before I had stays also at the IC Ljubljana, it was not unusual to find rates around 160/170 per night, now nothing below 300 or something like that.
fortunately a brand new holiday inn opened in Ljubljana and Im staying there when in Slovenia for business
